Tartu, with its population of 101,246 in an area of 38.8 square
kilometres, is the second largest city of Estonia. Tartu, lying
185 kilometres south of Tallinn, is also the centre of
Southern Estonia. The Emajõgi River, which connects the
two largest lakes of Estonia, flows for the length of 10 kilometres
within the city limits and adds colour to the city.

Tartu is a vigorous university town with a rich cultural heritage
providing diverse leisure opportunities throughout the year.
For domestic tourists Tartu is the most popular tourist destination
in Southern Estonia. Its peculiar architecture, fascinating events,
interesting exhibitions and the image of being a Hanseatic town

RIGA - MULTINATIONAL CITY

Riga is the capital of the Rebuplic of Latvia and it lies
on a significant historic trading route - river Daugava.
During the middle ages Riga developed as as German city.
During the wars and occupation or simply because of
practical reasons representatives of other nationalities
found their home in Riga, turning it into a multiethnic and
multicultural city.

The cultural heritage, unique environment and future
prospects of the city attract many tourists every year.
There are 42 museums in Riga. The numerous hotels
provide high quality services and every guest in Riga
can find a restaurant, cafe or night club that suite their
taste.  

The central market is one of the most contrastful places
in Riga. It was built in 1930s in the place where markets
were organised since the 16th century. In its prime it was
one of the most fashionable markets in Europe. Now there

VILNIUS - HISTORIC BAROQUE CITY

The Old Town, historical centre of Vilnius, is one of the largest in
Eastern Europe (360 ha). The most valuable historic and cultural
heritage is concentrated here. The buildings in the old town -
there are about 1.5 thousand of them - were built in a number
of different centuries, therefore, it is a mixture of all European
architectural styles. Although Vilnius is often called a baroque
city, here you will find some buildings of gothic, renaissance
and other styles. The main sights of the city are the Gediminas
Castle and the Cathedral Square, symbols of the capital.
Their combination is also a gateway to the historic centre
of the capital.

Its not suprising that the capital city of Lithuania is fast
becoming one of the most popular destinations in Eastern
Europe. City is appreciated as an attractive place, certainly
worth visiting. Whether you are a fan of architecture or social
life, opera or basketball, shopping or street festivals, Vilnius is
an ideal stop when travelling near the Baltic States or
