Kubusi Safaris offers you an opportunity to see a wide selection of vild species on
10 000 acres of our private reserve (Askari) as well as on our
200 000 acre concession areas.

Askari Game Reserve is only 90km from the East London airport and is the base from which we operate.

 

Askari Game Reserve is home to the "Back to Africa" Cape Buffalo project.
 
Our Lodges are all luxury en-suite chalets with typical thatched roofs, separate boma areas, swimming pool and excellent cuisine. The Eastern Cape has one of the highest specie diversity concentrations in Southern Africa. All the areas, we opetare are both Malaria and Bilharzia free.

 

Your Hosts: James and Megan Williamson have 13 years experience in game management and hunting outfitting. James was born in Umtata, Transkei, and Megan was born in Harare, Zimbabwe. They have a young daughter and son and 5 Jack Russell terriers. Together with our staff and guides, we will make your Safari a memorable adventure.

Climate: The Eastern Capes climate varies as its topography, with most of its rainfall during the hot summer months from October through to March (24 to 32 Degrees Celsius). The winter months of April through to September are usually cold to warm with crisp, clear skies during the day, ideal safari conditions (15 to 25 Degrees Celsius).

Clothing: Laundry is done on a daily basis at each Lodge. Short pants and t-shirts are recommended during summer (November- April) Factor 30 sun cream is recommended during this period. Thermal underwear and gloves are advisable during the mid-winter months. During this period, night temperatures can reach sub-zero, so make sure you bring warm clothing. Two pairs of good walking boots are recommended.

 

One large suitcase and a daypack are recommended for easy transportation. Make sure that all your baggage is clearly marked for your convenience and safety.

Travel Arrangements: Customs clearance is effective at your port of entry into South Africa Ask us if a visa is required. Travel insurance is obligatory for this trip.  Insurance of your personal baggage is advised even though we do not anticipate any problems.

 

Askari Game Reserve is about 1 hours drive from the East London airport, with the other concessions within 1 and a half hours of each other You will be met at the East London airport by your personal Professional guide. All transport for the duration of the Safari with your Professional guide is in a suitable 4x4.

Terms of business and reservations: A deposit of 50% of the daily rate is required to secure your reservation, when ordering the trip. If you cancel a Safari 60 days prior to the Safari, a full refund will be given, if you cancel within 59-28 days of the Safari, 10% will be retained in order to cover costs. If you cancel within 28-14 days to the safari, 500 eur will be retained in order to cover costs. If you cansel 14 days - 48 hours befor the safari, 50% of the costs will be retained in order to cover the costs. If you cansell later than 48 hours prior to the safari, the cansellation fee is 100%.

Insurance and Indemnity: Although we take every precaution to ensure all our clients wellbeing, we cannot be held responsible for any injury, accident, illness or loss sustained whilst on Safari. Clients should obtain their own insurance against any of the above. The following are included in your Safari: All accommodation, food and beverages Services of a licensed professional hunter, tracker and ground staff Transport to and from the airport as well as all ground transport for the duration of the Safari Field preparation of trophies and forwarding them to a taxidermist or shipping agent of your choice.
